NEXT GENERATION FILMS CHOOSES W&H EQUIPMENT TO MEET INCREASING DEMAND

LINCOLN, RI, —Next Generation Films Inc. of Lexington, OH has purchased its fourth 3-layer VAREX® film co-extrusion line from Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corporation to support the company's continued growth.

The new high-output 3-layer VAREX® line, which has an 87" working width and Filmatic T dual turret winder, will be in full production in fall 2009.

The success of Next Generation is impressive by anyone's standards. Entrepreneur Dave Frecka, who founded Next Generation in 1994, has led this independently-funded company, along with Dan Niss, to its current status as the largest film extruder in Ohio, with 100% sales growth in the past four years.

This position is getting stronger with Next's status as a leading innovator in their field and their dedication to lowering their carbon footprint.

Through patent-pending nanotechnology, the company has been able to develop nylon barrier alternatives. These proprietary structures are designed to reduce the amount of raw materials needed and enable the production of 3-layer films that are both recyclable and stronger than other 5- and 7-layer films. Furthermore, Next is a net zero scrap producer and is building a 100,000 sq. ft. wind-powered recycling center, where scrap will be repelletized and used in-house.

Frecka says, “W&H lines are the best in the world. They helped us get to $100 million in sales. With the addition of this 3-layer VAREX® and another W&H machine that we plan to buy later in the year, we will be well positioned to meet the demand of Fortune 500 contracts and to reach our goal of $200 million in the next five years.”

“It's incredible what Next Generation is doing. We feel fortunate that our equipment provides the flexibility and quality that Next Generation requires for its ground-breaking film technologies,” says W&H Vice President, Andrew Wheeler.

Next Generation Films, Inc. (www.nextgenfilms.com) was founded in 1994 and is a supplier of specialty films to a variety of markets, including food packaging, automobile, courier, manufactured housing and protective packaging segments.
